Dr. Theresa (Terri) Mary McDonough Brehove was born on October 3, 1959 and grew up in Granada Hills and Chatsworth, CA. She passed away on September 14, 2017 in Lomita, CA.
Terri attended St. John Baptist De La Salle Catholic Grammar School in Granada Hills and Chaminade College Prep Middle and High School in Chatsworth, and West Hills, CA. Always a brilliant student, she had enough credits to graduate with a Biology degree from Loyola Marymount University in only three years (Class of 1980), She then attended St. Louis University Medical School, earning her M.D. in 1984. After a residency at Glendale Adventist Medical Center she became a Family Practice Physician at Bay Shores Medical Group.

Then in 1996, moved to serve those most in need, she joined Venice Family Clinic serving low-income and homeless patients. When someone has been pushed down, ignored, and distrusted by so many people for so many years, they can lose their sense of self worth. But where others saw a lost cause, Terri would see someone with dignity and value. She took the time to show them respect, often coming home late as a result. She took her work on the road – going right to the patients in their shelters. She became Director of Homeless Services for VFC where she was well respected for her attention and dedication to her patients. At the time of her death she was the clinical director at the Irma Colen Health Center in Los Angeles.
Terri was active in her parish, a choir member, and Girl Scout Leader. She married Richard Brehove in 1983 and is survived by her husband and children Matthew, Christina, and Lisa, her sister Marie, and brothers Frank, Pat, and Joe. She was the perfect wife and mother. We will all miss her positive attitude, smile, and caring spirit. She spent her whole life serving others and as an organ donor her last act on earth was to give of her own body to bring hope to the sick.

Vigil Service will be held on September 29, 2017 at 7:00 PM and Funeral Mass on September 30, 2017 at 10:00 AM both at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She will be interred at San Fernando Mission Cemetery on October 2, 2017 at 11:00 AM.
