Santa L. Dantico was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed away at home on June 21, 2014, just missing her 96th birthday. She was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on July 22, 1918 and moved to Torrance in 1954. Santa was preceded in death by her husband, Philip (2002). She is survived by er son, Albert, daughter, Karen and grandchildren, Christina and Amanda. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Vera Maloni, in Chicago Heights, Illinois, and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Sandi (as her friends and neighbors called her) lived in the same house ‘on the hill’, for over 60 years and was very active in neighborhood events, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #1622, and an active parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church. She worked in the Linen department at Sears – Del Amo Center and later at Sears Credit Central in Torrance. She loved her cruises and bus trips with the neighbors, playing Pan and Bingo, bowling, golf and riding her gold Stingray bicycle around the hill and on the Strand. She also took many trips with the family to Chicago, Las Vegas, Seattle, Florida, and England. She is now back together with her Husband; Rest In Peace, Mom.
