Sandra G. Watson-Podleski, originally from Williamsburg, Michigan died at age 69 at Torrance Memorial hospital Feb. 26, 2010, near her home in Lomita, CA. Sandy was born in Traverse City Michigan on July 23rd 1940, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Ann (McFadden) Watson. Her brothers Jim and Kenny Watson and sister Joyce Ann Jennings along with her parents precede her in passing from this life to join our Heavenly Father. She is survived by her previous husband Kenn Podleski of Williamsburg Michigan and her children, daughter Shellie Podleski son Richard Podleski and his partner Jeff Stichler of Southern California. Sandy has two nephews Tom and John Jennings and niece Renee Jennings-Collins their spouses Linda, Elizabeth and Mike. As well great nephews, Patrick, Sean, Ryan, Devin, David and Ryan. Sandy has a distinguished career in the defense industry as an executive administrative assistant with top secret security clearances supporting numerous Vice Presidents at the Aerospace Corporation in the Satellite Space Launch division and at TRW in the Anti-Ballistic missile defense division. She also worked at Xerox Corporation and with the Dept. of Parks and Recreation; she was responsible for the city council meeting minutes reporting to the Mayor’s office for the city of Redondo Beach, CA. In her school years she skipped her sophomore year to Junior and was very active in sports being the highest scoring player on the women’s basketball team. She was on the cheerleading squad 2 years, a member of the Pep club, participated in Band and was President of her class. Sandy will be fondly remembered for her compassion and sense of humor and fairness. She was devoted to her family and friends and was always a good listener when others needed a shoulder to lean on. Memorial services are to be held at the United Methodist Church in Woodland Hills, CA at 1pm with final internment at Williamsburg, MI to follow summer 2010.
