ROSALIE LOUISE (MELERSKI) DOBLER

Born in Chicago, IL to a celebration of fireworks on July 4, 1927. Died at home in Norwalk, CA on June 26, 2013.

Rosalie had an independent, adventurous spirit and moved to Los Angeles as a young woman. After staying home to raise her four children she returned to work. She worked at System 99 for 18 years before retiring in 1985. Rosalie liked to travel. Singapore, Mexico, Alaska, and Hawaii are among the places she visited. She loved to dance and was accomplished in ballroom, square dance and round dance. One of her pastimes was making greeting cards and each year her family and friends would receive one of her special personalized birthday cards.

Rosalie was a loving sister, mother and grandmother. Her life touched many with kindness and love and she will be missed by all.

She is survived by her children Allen Dobler of Long Beach, CA, Lynette Dobler of Richfield, MN, Glenn Dobler of Norwalk, CA and Gregory Dobler and his wife, Martha, of Long Beach, CA; grandchildren Brandon, Brittany, Kara, Candice, Chad, Matthew and Adam; great-grandchildren Gavin, Alyssa, and Ashley; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her brothers Leonard, Louis, Irvin, Norbert and Alvin Melerski and her sisters Evelyn Christoph and Loretta Putman.

Visitation will be held at A. M. Gamby Funeral Home, Lomita, on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services at Saint John of God, Norwalk, will be on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. followed by interment at All Souls Cemetery, Long Beach.
