Rosalee (Rosie) B. Lillie, born on March 12, 1923, passed from this life on March 17, 2014 surrounded by her daughter, Darleen, family and friends. Rosie was born in Los Angeles and lived in California for all of her 91 years. She graduated from Hollywood High School and attended U.C.L.A., where she met William Lillie in 1941. They were married in 1942 and had two daughters, Darleen and Marleen.

Rosie was a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lomita and a member of The Catholic Daughters. During WWII, she worked for a short time at a fish cannery and then later as a secretary.

She is survived by her daughter, Darleen Talbott; grandsons Michael and Matthew Talbott, Charles and Stephen Hume; great grandsons, Noah, Aaron, Josiah and Alex Talbott, and Stephen Hume; sister-in-law, Nancy Lillie and many nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her husband of 61 years, William H. Lillie (d. 2002) and her daughter, Marleen (Hume) Solley (d. 1989). Rosie was affectionately called “Mom” by those close to her. She had a great love of people and was known for always wearing a smile and for her positive outlook. She was loved and will be sorely missed. Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, March 24th at 11:00 a.m.at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Lomita. There will be viewing at the church prior to mass from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Burial to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rosieís memory to a charity of your choice.
