Orson, was born in Sacramento, Ca. and was a longtime resident of Torrance. He went home to be with his Lord on July 5th at the age of 79. His wife Linda, daughters Lisa and Laura were at his side. After serving his term in the U.S. Army, he attended California State University at Long Beach receiving his BS in Electrical Engineering. Orson loved flying and obtained his private pilots license in 1961 He was a member of several flying clubs. When Orson was 16, he received his HAM radio operator license and has been enjoying his many ham contacts here and abroad over the years. He sang in the St Andrews Chancel Choir and Los Concioneros Coral. He enjoyed singing in the men’s chorus in the El Camino College Musical, “Fiddler on the Roof”. Orson was a deacon in his church and a member of the Torrance Amateur Radio Association (TARA). Orson married Linda Barrie in 1964 and they had two daughters. He is survived by his loving wife, Linda Just; daughters Lisa Just, Laura Just; grandchildren, Evan and Erika Garcia; Sisters, Janet Atkins of Capitola, CA, Diana Ruth of Elk Grove, CA, Dorothy Sherrard of Sacramento; and brother, George Just also of Sacramento, and many nieces and nephews. A service will be held on July 16 at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Ave. D and PCH in Redondo Beach at 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family requests donations be made to St. Andrew’s Ministries, in Orson’s name.
