Roy (Leo) Meyer (91) Roy Meyer, long time resident of Lomita, died peacefully at his home on November 19. He was born and raised on a farm near Avoca, Nebraska on February 24, 1920, to George and Theresa Meyer. The second son of 10 children. He married Floy Whitworth on June 15, 1942. They lived in Omaha, Nebraska where he worked at the Martin Bomber Plant during the 2nd World War, later moving to Lomita, CA; in 1948 to work at North American Rockwell Aircraft Plant in Los Angeles, until he retired after 35 yrs. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Church and served as an Usher for many years.He also was a member of the Holy Name Mens Society at church and enjoyed the Hi-Neighbor’s Senior Club for 15 yrs. Roy is survived by his wife Floy of 68 yrs, daughters Sharyn Arellano and Carolyn Moldenhauer. Grandchildren Edward Arfman, Teri(Mark)Johnson, Eric(Shellie)Arfman, Jenny Arfman, Tammi(John)Mohr and Michelle Smart, great grandchildren Heather Hoggeman, Bryce Johnson, Rory Briganti, Megan Smart, Micheal Smart, Jack Mohr, Mason Mohr, Nicholas Arfman, Ashton Arfman, Stephanie Arfman and great great grandchild Brayden. He also is survived by his sister Loretta Linhardt and brothers Merle Meyer, John Meyer, Carroll Meyer, James Meyer and Richard Meyer. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Theresa Meyer, son Charles Roy Meyer, brothers Donald, Hubert and Ralph Meyer. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church in Lomita on Tuesday November 23, at 12 noon. Interment to follow at Green Hills Memorial Park in Rancho Palos Verdes.
