Leo was born and raised in San Pedro, CA. He served in the Navy as a photographer in World War 2 in the Pacific (Okinawa). He was a Longshoreman Local 13 for 39 years. Leo was a resident of Lomita and a parishioner at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church for more than 50 years. Preceding him in death was his wife Anna M. Winter (1991). He is survived by his only living sibling, his twin sister, Louise I. Winter of Torrance, CA; his children Donna L. Smith of Pahrump, NV; Leo J. and Becky (Morales) Winter Jr. of Palmdale, CA; John F. Winter of Lomita, CA; Timothy P. Winter of Redondo Beach, CA; Anna C. Winter of Las Vegas, NV; and Cynthia R. Winter of Lomita CA; several nieces and nephews, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great- great-grandchildren with one on the way. Viewing for Leo will be held on Thursday February 3, 2011 at 4:00 till 8:00pm with Rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Febuary 4, 2011 at Saint Margaret Mary with Interment at All Souls Cemetery 4400 Cherry Ave. Long Beach, CA. 90807.
