James William Ryan JR. went to be with the Lord February 27, 2011. James was a long time resident of Torrance, California. He was born on October 31, 1931 in Chicago Illinois. James was a Boy Scout and earn the rank of Eagle, he served his country as Air National Guard during the Korean War. James was employed in Southern California Aviation Industry for over 30 years. James was a member of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Lomita and was involved with Presbyterian MNariners, Synod Skjippers Hawthorne Seafarers, Christian Buciness mens committee, Society of Manufacturing Enginerers, Lomita Railroad Museum, Elks Lodge #966 were he earned the rank of Exalted Ruler, Los Angeles Model Railroad Society, Cruisin 50’s Car Club. James is survived by his second wife Elsie, daughter Valerie Rice(Michael) of Lakewood; sons James Willimam Ryan III (Pamela) of Torrance; and Timothy Ryan(Patricia)of Las Vegas. Grandchildren, James William Ryan IV (Allison) of Redondo Beach; Kelly McKnight (Michael) of Hermosa Beach; Shawn Ryan(Jackie) of El Segundo; Rebecca Reid(Justin) of Long Beach; Michael Jr. and Ryan Rice of Lakewood; Meghan Directo (Randy) of Las Vegas. Great-grand-children James W. V, and Amanda Ryan, Georgia, and Ryan McKnight, Audrey, and Noah Directo, Allison Reid. James was proceeded in death by his first wife of 47 years Darlene. Viewing for James will be be held at A.M. Gamby Funeral Home at 4:00 til 6:00pm Sunday March 6, 2011 services for James will be held at St Marks Presbyterian Church in Lomita on Monday March 7, 2011 at 10:00am with Interment at Green Hills Memorial Park to follow.
