Ernie passed away peacefully at his home. He was born in Torrance, California to Homer and Bernice Foster, who preceded him in death. Ernie graduated from Torrance High in 1967 and worked for a brief time at Northrup Aircraft. He then worked in the movie industry in transportation for many years. He became good friends with several well-known Hollywood actors. Ernie had a lifetime love of classic and antique cars He opened his own restoration business and won awards for his excellent skills. Ernie was a big fan of the annual Torrance High Alumni Car Show. He was involved in Springer Spaniel dog rescues and especially loved his own dogs (and cat, tortoises and turtles). He enjoyed deep-sea fishing and participated in many shark fishing tournaments and was even in a reality tv series about it. Ernie had a wide variety of interests and brought his big personality wherever he went. He was noticed by all and loved by many. He is survived by his brother, Ed (Lynne) Foster; his nephew, Eric (Kylene) Foster; his grand-nieces, Hannah and Hattie; many cousins and so many close friends who loved and took good care of him. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Fred Jordan Mission in Los Angeles, which had a special place in Ernie’s heart. Memorial gathering for all was held on Sunday, July 26th, from 3-6 pm at the Carson Community Center, 801 E. Carson St.
