Charles Erwin Mann was born December 11, 1938 to Anna Blohm and Jasper O. Mann in Utah. He was a cancer survivor, but passed away on May 9, in Lomita, California as a result of complications of age and diabetes. His loving family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and siblings will miss him a great deal. He was always fun to be with and cared dearly about his family. Charlie grew up in Utah and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and participated in Boy Scouting. H fulfilled his dream to serve his country by joining the UJ. S. Navy (1957-1963) participating in maneuvers surrounding the Korean Conflict and stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He was a devoted and handsome sailor and the Navy spirit stayed with him all his life. After the Navy, Charles worked for Thiokol, in Utah for a few years, then moved on to Hughes Aircraft for a long career as a quality Control Inspector Superintendent. He and Mary Lopez (Mann) were the parents of three children, Peter, Kimberly and Bobbie Ann. He started a life-long love of southern California while in the Navy and raised his children there in Lomita. He and Mary were divorced but remained involved and caring parents to their children. He met his wife Jeannie and was married to her in March 1974. He loved traveling with her to visit children, grandchildren and supported her in displaying and selling her art work and crafts. Charlie was a fabulous pool shark and played almost daily with his friends in Lomita, and also really enjoyed his trips to Primm, Nevada, where he as a welcome customer. He was terribly saddened at the early and unexpected death of Jeannie in 2008. He has gone on to be with her, his parents and siblings, Eloise, Keldon and LaVoy. Charlie is survived by children, Peter (Marta), Kim (Boris) and Bobbie Ann, Jeannieís children, Bonnie, Michael and Diane, 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and sisters, JJ (Carl), Pat (Steve) and

Diona (Rainer). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 18, at A. M. Gamby Mortuary, 25001 Narbonne Ave., Lomita, California at 11:00 a.m. and a private burial at sea ceremony with family on Sunday, May 19, 2013.
