Cookie was a successful business woman who upon retirement became a pillar of support for several ministries at St. Margaret Mary Church. Her dedication and love of God led her to embrace the plight of helping those less fortunate than her. Every Wednesday for twenty-eight years, she and her sister, Dolores, could be found tending to their needs of so many people who needed Christian Services. So often anonymously giving personal emergency help. Her role in the success of the Lomita Fair was marked by hard work, stern organization and love and pride of her contribution to the parish. Christian Service, The Fair and The Lazarus Group were the three ministries most important to her. Cookie was the epitome of elegance, beauty, decency and humility she was vivacious with a great sense of humor. She danced, she cooked, she laughed, she cried and she loved a good party. Her scent was soft and lingering. Her red hair always a perfection. Her face, God sculpted masterpiece. Oh, how we loved her. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 27, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at A.M. Gamby Funeral Home, Lomita.
