Bonnie Jean Crook passed away unexpectedly from a stroke on September 16 at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood. She was born in Idaho Falls, ID on April 2, 1935 to Leonal and Edith (McLing) Coles. Bonnie Jean Crook passed away unexpectedly from a stroke on September 16 at UCLA Medical Center in Westwood. She was born in Idaho Falls, ID on April 2, 1935 to Leonal and Edith (McLing) Coles. She attended BYU where she and Richard O. Crook fell in love and were married January 4, 1957 in the Idaho Falls LDS temple. They were married 59 years and 57 of those were spent joyfully raising their family and living in Torrance, California.They nurtured a marriage of love and romance, that few ever achieve. She was manager of Alta Vista Tennis Courts for the City of Redondo Beach. Richard and Bonnie also catered hundreds of weddings up until just last month, where they shared a mutual love for good food, creativity and happy beginnings. She dedicated much of her life to serving as a church youth leader and touched the lives of 1000’s through her kind heart and unconditional love. She and Richard also served 3 full time missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She is survived by her husband Richard; 4 children and their spouses: Laura Moody, Jeffrey Crook, Peggy Kirts and Jennifer Farfan as well as 17 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Her family finds peace and comfort in their belief that families are forever and have faith that they will see her again. Services will be held at the Torrance LDS Church at 22605 Kent Ave, Torrance, CA 90505 on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. Viewings will be held there on Friday the 25th from 7:00pm-9:00pm and Saturday the 26th from 9:30am-10:30 am. The family wishes to thank those who have offered heartfelt expressions of love and comfort. Flowers can be sent to A. M. Gamby Funeral Home 25001 Narbonne Ave, Lomita, CA 90717, though in lieu of flowers, Bonnie’s wishes were that you take your mother or family out to dinner and post or send a picture and share it with us.
